Inside the core of you
the soul rest, moored in a comfortable nest called a ghillie.
The ghillie conceals the soul from eyes.
Inside the soul, on the left side, there is a storage compartment called a pocket.
Within the pocket, there is a main sail folded up very neatly.
The sail must be kept in an orderly manner,
if it becomes messy and is left unkept
in a heap, the sailcloth will crease and crumple-it will mildew.
The sail, being as it is an internal device
is naturally well protected from the elements.
It is not until something that feels “just right,”
a specific breeze that sweeps through you
that the sail unfolds.
When it happens it is a striking force,
despite the lurch, the jolt, the cosmic pop
of the whole thing going full, taut-
it can sometimes go unnoticed.
Suddenly swaying in the act of adoration,
You come to see that you have been set in motion.
Bursting at the seams,
life occurs around you at a dreamy speed.
The sail has become full blown, you are moving
in uncharted places.
You can only bless it and hold on for the journey-
